Fuel cells show a lot of promise due to their high electrical efficiency, (50% to 60%, and in some cases upto 80% when waste heat is captured and utilized for cogeneration applications) and fuel flexibility (they can operate on a variety of fuels, including hydrogen, natural gas, biogas, syngas, and even liquid fuels like diesel and ethanol) and could be applicable for situations involving stationary power generation in industrial applications.
