CLIENT OBJECTIVE

Given the growing restrictions on industrial Petcoke use, the Client, with the support of USTDA, selected Dastur to assess feasibility of Petcoke conversion into clean fuels.

Solution descriptions

Dastur Energy prepared the techno-economic feasibility report to produce clean fuels and chemicals from Petcoke gasification. The proposed solution involved:

Evaluating Market potential of various products derived from Petcoke gasification
Identifying the most beneficial scenario by considering - various product portfolios based on available syngas, captive usage, capex and opex
Evaluating different gasification technologies and gas conditioning processes, IGCC power block and process
Providing a process overview for conversion of syngas to value-added products (power, H2, methanol, MEG etc), design PFDs

Developing plant layouts and logistics infrastructure
Providing financial feasibility study with cost estimations, revenue projections, profitability analysis, and sensitivity assessments
Framing of an effective business, operating model and implementation plan
Conducting preliminary environmental impact assessment and control measures
Identifying potential US technology providers, equipment and services for the project
