The G20 under the leadership of India has recognized the Circular Carbon Economy and Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Sequestration (CCUS) as key to reaching a net-zero future. In order to provide a roadmap for scaling up CCUS to the Giga-tonne (GT) scale, Dastur Energy was asked to undertake a study on the technology gaps across the CCUS value chain and provide a pathway to international collaboration and roadmap for the development of technologies, projects, and enablers across the CCUS value chain.
The study was launched during the International Seminar on CCUS on 5 February 2023 in Bangalore and analyses technology gaps across carbon capture, compression, dehydration, transportation, storage & utilization and provides solutions for the large-scale & cost-effective implementation of CCUS projects across the world, and the key areas of international collaboration. This study draws upon the expertise and experience of CCUS technology development & projects across the world and seeks to provide project proponents, policymakers, institutions, investors, and industries a holistic understanding of key actions required for the accelerated deployment of CCUS to reach the Gigatonne (GT) sale and meaningfully contribute to the future net-zero world.
