Solar and wind generation costs have fallen 90% over the past decade. Yet retail electricity prices have risen dramatically in every major economy:

• UK:Renewables grew 8% → 47%, prices tripled from 15¢ → 45¢/kWh
• Germany:Renewables >50%, tariffs €0.38-0.42/kWh with €12B annual redispatch costs
• Texas:5 TWh renewable energy curtailed in 2023 = $250M wasted value
• California:Renewables >33%, rates jumped from 18¢ → 35-40¢/kWh

The Paradox: The marginal cost of generation fell, but the marginal cost of coordination exploded. Cheap energy at the source became expensive electricity at the socket. Integration, not generation, now determines the real cost of electricity.
